BALCO Celebrates India’s 76th Republic Day, Echoing Unity, Pride, and Patriotism

Balconagar; January 27, 2025: Bharat Aluminium Company Limited (BALCO), India’s iconic aluminium producer and a subsidiary of Vedanta Aluminium, organised a grand celebration of India’s 76th Republic Day at the BALCO stadium in Korba, Chhattisgarh. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from over 9.000 people who collectively displayed unity, pride, and patriotism for the nation through several engaging demonstrations and vibrant performances.

The event featured a plethora of activities with the participation of BALCO’s security teams and communities, including a solemn march past. Mr. Rajesh Kumar, CEO and Director of BALCO, commenced the proceedings with the unfurling of the national flag and playing of the national anthem. He also paid respect to the guard of honor and acknowledged the salute of the security team during their spirited march past. Tri-colored balloons were also released into the air on the occasion, symbolizing continued peace and freedom for India.

The audience witnessed an engaging demonstration from over 2,000 students across 15 schools in BALCO’s vicinity, celebrating the rich culture and diversity of the nation. The vibrant performances included PT drills, parades, and cultural presentations.

In a joint celebration with its communities, BALCO presented captivating tableaux showcasing various parts of its operations, including Potlines, Power Operations, Cast Houses, Logistics, Fire Safety, HR, CSR and Corporate Affairs. These intricately designed floats were included in the parade, not only reflecting the diverse facets of BALCO's operations but also representing its commitment to empowering communities.

Reiterating BALCO's dedication to unity and collective growth, Mr. Rajesh Kumar, stated, "At BALCO, we are committed to adding to India’s industrial prowess, while also integrating environmental stewardship and equitable community development within our journey of shared growth and development. We are also greatly invested in strong relationships with our communities and partners, working together to make our nation a true global manufacturing powerhouse.”

The event was also graced by Ms. Deshnee Naidoo, CEO, Vedanta Resources London. Highlighting BALCO’s impact at various fronts, Ms. Naidoo said, “What truly distinguishes BALCO is its impact that extends far beyond the industrial domain. Its relentless efforts toward transforming the planet, empowering communities, and fostering an inclusive workplace reaffirm its position as a true leader.”

The festivities concluded with the felicitation of student toppers of Class 10th and 12th exams from the participating schools and awards for the winning parade presentations and tableaux. Following the Republic Day festivities, Mr. Kumar also visited the BALCO Hospital in Korba, where he distributed nutritious fruits among several patients. His visit represented the company’s deep commitment to the community and emphasized the importance of ensuring good health and overall well-being for the nation’s development.

बालको ने 76वां गणतंत्र दिवस समारोह धूमधाम से संपन्न

बालकोनगर, 27 जनवरी, 2025। वेदांता समूह की कंपनी भारत एल्यूमिनियम कंपनी लिमिटेड (बालको) ने 76वां गणतंत्र दिवस बालको स्टेडियम में बड़े उत्साह और धूमधाम के साथ मनाया। कार्यक्रम में 9000 से अधिक लोगों ने जोश और उत्साह के साथ हिस्सा लिया। समारोह की शुरूआत बालको के मुख्य कार्यकारी अधिकारी एवं निदेशक श्री राजेश कुमार के ध्वज फहराने और राष्ट्रगान के साथ हुआ। उन्होंने परेड का निरीक्षण कर अनुशासित मार्च पास्ट की सलामी ली। ग्रांउड में शांति और स्वतंत्रता के प्रतीक के गुब्बारे भी हवा में छोड़े गए। सीईओ श्री राजेश ने बालको द्वारा हासिल किए गए सभी महत्वपूर्ण उपलब्धियों को भी दोहराया और सभी से विकास यात्रा में सक्रिय भागीदार बनने का आग्रह किया।

बालको और टाउनशिप की सुरक्षा में हमेशा तत्पर रहने वाले सुरक्षाकर्मियों ने परेड में उत्कृष्ट प्रदर्शन दिया। 15 स्कूलों के लगभग 2000 बच्चों ने पी.टी. ड्रिल, परेड, नृत्य प्रदर्शन और सांस्कृतिक कार्यक्रम में भागीदारी की। दर्शकों ने राष्ट्र की समृद्ध संस्कृति और विविधता का जश्न मनाते हुए बालको के प्रचालन क्षेत्र के पास के स्कूलों के जीवंत सांस्कृतिक प्रदर्शनों का आनंद लिया।

कार्यक्रम का मुख्य आकर्षण देश की सांस्कृतिक विविधता एवं आत्मनिर्भर भारत को प्रदर्शित करने वाली झांकियों का जीवंत प्रदर्शन रहा। समुदाय के साथ संयुक्त उत्सव में बालको के विभिन्न विभाग पॉटलाइन, पॉवर प्लांट, रेलवे लॉजिस्टिक्स, एफ.एल.ए., मानव संसाधन, फायर, कॉरपोरेट अफेयर्स और सीएसआर कार्यों सहित विभिन्न व्यावसायिक कार्यों का प्रतिनिधित्व करने वाली मनोरम झांकियाँ प्रस्तुत कीं। आकर्षित रूप से डिजाइन की गई झांकियां बालको के संचालन के विविध पहलुओं को प्रस्तुत करने के साथ ही समुदायों को सशक्त बनाने की उसकी प्रतिबद्धता को भी प्रदर्शित कर रही थी। कार्यक्रम की सराहना करते हुए उत्कृष्ट झांकियों एवं सांस्कृतिक प्रस्तुति को सम्मानित भी किया गया।

देश की एकता, अखंडता एवं विश्व बंधुत्व के मूल्यों और सामूहिक प्रगति के प्रति बालको के समर्पण को दोहराते हुए सीईओ श्री राजेश कुमार ने कहा कि बालको में हम अपनी वृद्धि और विकास की यात्रा के बीच औद्योगिक कौशल, पर्यावरण प्रबंधन और सामुदायिक विकास के लिए प्रतिबद्ध हैं। हम कर्मचारियों और समुदायों के विकास को महत्व देते हैं। राष्ट्र निर्माण और दुनिया को सभी के लिए एक सस्टेनेबल भविष्य बनाने के लिए प्रतिबद्ध हैं।

विशिष्ट अतिथि के रूप में उपस्थित वेदांता रिसोर्स, लंदन की मुख्य कार्यकारी अधिकारी देशनी नायडू ने कहा  कि गणतंत्र दिवस समारोह में शामिल होना मेरे लिए गर्व की बात है। बालको औद्योगिक क्षेत्र के विकास के साथ ही सामुदायिक विकास को महत्व देता है। उन्होंने कहा कि बालको औद्योगिक क्षेत्र में एक लीडर की भूमिका में है जो विविधता एवं समावेशी कार्यस्थल को बढ़ावा देने की दिशा निरंतर आगे बढ़ रहा है।

पांच विद्यार्थियों को मिला नगर गौरव पुरस्कार- समारोह में बालकोनगर क्षेत्र में संचालित सेंट्रल बोर्ड और छत्तीसगढ़ बोर्ड के विद्यार्थियों को उत्कृष्ट शैक्षणिक प्रदर्शन के लिए पुरस्कार दिए गए। कक्षा 10वीं में टॉप करने वाले 3 विद्यार्थियों को स्वर्ण पदक तथा 10 हजार रुपए नगद तथा कक्षा 12वीं के 2 टॉपर विद्यार्थियों को स्वर्ण पदक तथा लैपटॉप प्रदान कर उनके परिवारजनों की उपस्थिति में सम्मानित किया गया। कार्यक्रम के अंत में परेड प्रस्तुतियों और झांकियों में उत्कृष्ट योगदान देने वाली टीमों को पुरस्कृत किया गया।

कार्यक्रम में बड़ी संख्या में बालको अधिकारी, कर्मचारी एवं उनके परिवारजन, व्यवसाय के साझेदार, विभिन्न श्रमिक संघों के पदाधिकारी और बड़ी संख्या में बालकोनगरवासी कार्यक्रम में मौजूद थे। बालको के मुख्य मानव संसाधन अधिकारी श्रीमती प्रज्ञा पाण्डे ने गंणतंत्र दिवस के सफल आयोजन के लिए सभी के प्रति आभार जताया।

गणतंत्र दिवस उत्सव के उपरांत बालको के सीईओ एवं अन्य वरिष्ठ अधिकारियों सहित बालको अस्पताल गए। जहां सभी ने समुदाय के प्रति कंपनी की प्रतिबद्धता स्वास्थ्य और कल्याण के महत्व पर जोर देते हुए मरीजों के बीच फल वितरित किए।
