NSL Steel Plant Achieves Another Milestone Yesterday – Production of 1 Million Tonne of Hot Rolled Coil in Less Than a Year

Nagarnar. 20 August 2024:///  Soon after crossing the half-mark of the rated capacity in production of hot metal on 14 August, NMDC Steel Limited’s Integrated Steel Plant at Nagercoil crossed another milestone today when its Hot Strip Mill completed production of 1 million tonne of hot rolled coil. It may be recalled that the plant had rolled out its first HR coil on 24 August 2023, within a record 9 days after starting production of hot metal on 15 August 2023. Shri Amitabh Mukherjee, Director Finance & Operations, CMD, NMDC congratulated the team and called it an important day. He added, “I am extremely proud to share that NSL has achieved this significant milestone so early in its production journey. Achieving 1 million tonnes of Hot Rolled Coil (HCC) ahead of schedule is a testament to the dedication, expertise and hard work of our entire dedicated team. This achievement has not only set a new benchmark in the PSU space but also stands strong against industry norms. We are focused to maintain this momentum and continue moving forward with quality and efficiency.” The 3 million tonne capacity ultra-modern integrated steel plant set up with an investment of over Rs. 24000 crore has one of the widest hot strip mills in India. It can roll HR coils from 900 mm to 1650 mm width in 1 mm to 16 mm diameter.

The HR coils produced by NSL have been appreciated and purchased readily by various consumer sectors in the past one year. Appreciating the hard work of the team, Shri K.P. Kumar said, “Each and every member of Team NSL deserves appreciation as they have overcome many challenges that came our way to reach this milestone. Our strong team had the strong support of MECON officials, our suppliers and collaborators to achieve this milestone.” Outlining the next target of NSL, Shri K.P. Kumar said that we have to increase production and achieve economies of scale to reach a strong profit. He said, “I am confident that we will be able to overcome the challenges and achieve the same success.” This team which has achieved success will soon be successful in its next phase too.

नगरनार 20 अगस्त 2024:////   14 अगस्त को हॉट मेटल के उत्पादन में निर्धारित क्षमता का आधा आंकड़ा पार करने के तुरंत बाद, एनएमडीसी स्टील लिमिटेड के नागरकोइल स्थित एकीकृत इस्पात संयंत्र ने आज एक और मील का पत्थर पार कर लिया, जब इसकी हॉट स्ट्रिप मिल ने 1 मिलियन टन हॉट रोल्ड कॉइल का उत्पादन पूरा कर लिया। गौरतलब है कि संयंत्र ने 15 अगस्त 2023 को हॉट मेटल का उत्पादन शुरू करने के रिकॉर्ड 9 दिनों के भीतर 24 अगस्त 2023 को अपना पहला एचआर कॉइल रोल आउट किया था। एनएमडीसी के सीएमडी, निदेशक वित्त एवं संचालन श्री आलमजीत मुखर्जी ने टीम को बधाई दी और इसे एक महत्वपूर्ण दिन बताया। उन्होंने कहा, "मुझे यह बताते हुए बेहद गर्व हो रहा है कि एनएसएल ने अपनी उत्पादन यात्रा में इतनी जल्दी यह महत्वपूर्ण मील का पत्थर हासिल किया है हम इस गति को बनाए रखने और गुणवत्ता और दक्षता के साथ आगे बढ़ते रहने पर केंद्रित हैं।” 24000 करोड़ रुपये से अधिक के निवेश से स्थापित 3 मिलियन टन क्षमता वाला अत्याधुनिक एकीकृत इस्पात संयंत्र भारत में सबसे चौड़ी हॉट स्ट्रिप मिलों में से एक है। यह 1 मिमी से 16 मिमी व्यास में 900 मिमी से 1650 मिमी चौड़ाई के एचआर कॉइल को रोल कर सकता है।

पिछले एक साल में विभिन्न उपभोक्ता क्षेत्रों द्वारा एनएसएल द्वारा उत्पादित एचआर कॉइल की सराहना की गई है और उन्हें आसानी से खरीदा गया है। टीम की कड़ी मेहनत की सराहना करते हुए, श्री के.पी. कुमार ने कहा, “टीम एनएसएल का प्रत्येक सदस्य प्रशंसा का पात्र है क्योंकि उन्होंने इस मील के पत्थर तक पहुंचने के लिए हमारे रास्ते में आने वाली कई चुनौतियों को पार किया है। हमारी मजबूत टीम को इस मील के पत्थर को हासिल करने में मेकॉन के अधिकारियों, हमारे आपूर्तिकर्ताओं और सहयोगियों का मजबूत समर्थन मिला।” एनएसएल के अगले लक्ष्य को रेखांकित करते हुए, श्री के.पी. कुमार ने कहा सफलता प्राप्त कर चुकी यह टीम जल्द ही अपने अगले चरण में भी सफल होगी।
