Celebrating Innovation and Sustainability MEAI and NMDC host National Seminar

Hyderabad, 17 February 2024:///  The National Seminar on ‘Advanced Iron Ore Beneficiation and Sustainable Low Grade Iron Ore Utilization’ concluded on Saturday, making meaningful strides towards the sustainable growth of the industry. Leaping into the future of iron ore processing, this Seminar was organized by the Mining Engineers’ Association of India, Hyderabad Chapter and the country’s largest iron ore producer - NMDC. 

At its valedictory function, Chief Guest Shri Amitava Mukherjee, CMD (Additional Charge) NMDC said, “Advanced beneficiation and the sustainable utilization of low-grade iron ore represent a critical challenge and an opportunity for our industry. We at NMDC, have a special focus on maximum resource utilization and circularity. By pushing the boundaries with innovation and technology transfer while committing to ESG, we can not only meet the demands of the present but also secure a resilient and responsible future for the iron ore industry.”

Guests of Honour Shri S.N. Mathur, President MEAI; Shri P.R. Tripathi, Former CMD, NMDC; and Shri M. Narsaiah, Secretary General, MEAI along with Presiding Officer Shri Vinay Kumar, Director Technical NMDC and Chairman MEAI, Hyderabad Chapter were also present at the Valedictory ceremony.

During the two days of the conference, three technical sessions were conducted and 14 papers were presented by students, research fellows, and industry experts from University of Hyderabad, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Madras, NMDC, AM/NS, TATA Steel, JSW, and MSPL among others. The final panel discussion deliberated on the way forward and policy interventions required.

MEAI Hyderabad Chapter and NMDC celebrated the stalwarts of the Indian Mining Industry by honouring Shri V.S. Rao, Former President MEAI;  Shri K.K. Biran, Former President MEAI; Shri P.R. Tripathi, Former CMD NMDC; Shri S.K. Agarwal, Former CMD (I/c) NMDC; Shri Murli Manohar, Former Director (Commercial), NMDC; and Shri V.D. Rajagopal, Former President MEAI for their invaluable contributions.

नवाचार और स्थिरता के महत्व को दर्शाते हुए एमईएआई और एनएमडीसी ने राष्ट्रीय संगोष्ठी का आयोजन किया

हैदराबाद, 17 फरवरी 2024 /// : उद्योग के सतत विकास की दिशा में सार्थक प्रगति करते हुए “'उन्नत लौह अयस्क बेनीफिशिएशन और सुस्थिर निम्न श्रेणी के लौह अयस्क उपयोग' पर राष्ट्रीय संगोष्ठी का समापन शनिवार को हुआ। लौह अयस्क प्रसंस्करण के भविष्य की ओर बढते हुए, इस सेमिनार का आयोजन माइनिंग इंजीनियर्स एसोसिएशन ऑफ इंडिया, हैदराबाद चैप्टर और देश के सबसे बड़े लौह अयस्क उत्पादक-एनएमडीसी द्वारा किया गया था।

इसके समापन समारोह में, मुख्य अतिथि श्री अमिताभ मुखर्जी, सीएमडी (अतिरिक्त प्रभार) एनएमडीसी ने कहा, “'उन्नत लौह अयस्क बेनीफिशिएशन और सुस्थिर निम्न श्रेणी के लौह अयस्क उपयोग”' हमारे उद्योग के लिए एक महत्वपूर्ण चुनौती और अवसर का प्रतिनिधित्व करता है। एनएमडीसी में हमारा विशेष ध्यान अधिकतम संसाधन उपयोग और पुनर्चक्रण पर है। ईएसजी के प्रति वचनबद्ध रहते हुए नवाचार और प्रौद्योगिकी हस्तांतरण से सीमाओं को पार करते हुए, हम न केवल वर्तमान की मांगों को पूरा कर सकते हैं, बल्कि लौह अयस्क उद्योग के लिए एक मजबूत और जिम्मेदार भविष्य भी सुरक्षित कर सकते हैं।

समारोह में सम्मानित अतिथि एमईएआई के अध्यक्ष श्री एस. एन. माथुर; एनएमडीसी के पूर्व सीएमडी श्री पी. आर. त्रिपाठी और एमईएआई के महासचिव श्री एम. नरसैया के साथ पीठासीन अधिकारी एवं अध्यक्ष एमईएआई, हैदराबाद चैप्टर श्री विनय कुमार, निदेशक (तकनीकी) एनएमडीसी भी उपस्थित थे।

संगोष्ठी में दो दिनों के दौरान तीन तकनीकी सत्र आयोजित किए गए और विद्यार्थियों, शोधकर्ताओं और हैदराबाद विश्वविद्यालय,आईआईटी खड़गपुर, आईआईटी मद्रास, एनएमडीसी, एएम/एनएस, टाटा स्टील, जेएसडब्ल्यू और एमएसपीएल से उद्योग के विशेषज्ञों द्वारा 14 पेपर प्रस्तुत किए गए । निर्णायक पैनल चर्चा में आगे की राह और आवश्यक नीतिगत हस्तक्षेप पर विचार-विमर्श किया गया ।
