NMDC and CSIR-IMMT enter Collaborative Research Agreement

Hyderabad, 27 June 2023:/// India’s mining major NMDC entered into a Collaborative Research Agreement with CSIR-Institute of Minerals and Materials Technology (IMMT) on Monday. The agreement was signed in the presence of Shri Dilip Kumar Mohanty, Director (Production) and Shri Vishwanath Suresh, Director (Commercial) along with senior officials at NMDC Head Office in Hyderabad.

The collaboration agreement is to study the ‘Conveying Characteristics and Behavior of Iron Ore in Pneumatic Conveying System’. Aimed at understanding the behavior of iron ore fines/concentrate in pneumatic, that is air assisted, transport pipeline system. The research will establish the design parameters for inter/intra plant pipeline transportation of iron ore. The joint research program will utilize the vast knowledge and experience of CSIR-IMMT, Bhubaneswar and NMDC towards making the Indian Mineral Industry self-reliant.

Speaking on the occasion, Shri Dilip Kumar Mohanty emphasized on the significance of collaboration between industry and research organizations to solve operational issues leading to value addition for the industry. He said, “NMDC is making investments to enhance the use of indigenous technology in mining. Our collaborations with leading research organizations of the country are stepping stones towards this vision.”

NMDC’s in-house R&D Centeris recognized as a Centre of Excellence in the field of mineral processing by UNIDO. Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR)-IMMT is a cutting-edge R&D organization known for its knowledge base in diverse science and technology fields. NMDC and CSIR-IMMT have contributed tobreakthrough developments in the past and are gearing up to build a smart and sustainable future for mining.

एनएमडीसी और सीएसआईआरआई एमएमटी ने सहयोगी अनुसंधान समझौते पर हस्ताक्षर किए

हैदराबाद, 27 जून 2023:///  भारत की प्रमुख  खनन कंपनी एनएमडीसी ने सोमवार को सीएसआईआर-इंस्टीट्यूट ऑफ मिनरल्स एंड मैटेरियल्स टेक्नोलॉजी (आईएमएमटी) के साथ एक सह योगी अनुसंधान समझौता किया । एनएमडीसी के मुख्यालय, हैदराबाद में श्दिलीप कुमार मोहंती, निदेशक (उत्पादन) और श्विश्वनाथ सुरेश, निदेशक (वाणिज्य) एवं वरिष्ठ अधिकारियों की उपस्थिति में समझौते पर हस्ताक्षर किए गए।

सहयोग समझौता“ न्यूमेटिक कंवेयिंग  प्रणाली में लौह अयस्क की विशेषताओं और लक्षणों” का अध्ययन करने के लिए है। इसका उद्देश्य न्यूमेटिक, अर्थात वायु की सहायता से परिवहन पाइप लाइन प्रणाली,में लौह अयस्क फाइन्स/कंसंट्रेट के व्यवहार को समझना है। यह अनुसंधान लौह अयस्क के इंटर/इंट्राप्लांट पाइप लाइन परिवहन के लिए डिजाइन मापदंडों का पता लगाएगा। संयुक्तअ नुसंधान कार्यक्रम भारतीय खनिज उद्योग को आत्मनिर्भर बनाने की दिशा में सीएसआईआर-आईएमएमटी, भुवनेश्वर और एनएमडीसी के वृहद ज्ञानऔर अनुभव का उपयोग करेगा।

इस अवसर पर बोलते हुए, श्दिलीप कुमार मोहंती ने उद्योग के मूल्यवर्धन हेतु परिचालन मुद्दों का समाधान करने के लिए उद्योग और अनुसंधान संगठनों के बीच सहयोग के महत्व पर जोर दिया। उन्होंने कहा, "एनएमडीसी खनन में स्वदेशी तकनीक के उपयोग को बढ़ाने के लिए निवेश कर रहा है। देश केअग्रणी अनुसंधान संगठनों के साथ हमारे गठजोड इस विजन को प्राप्त करने की दिशा में महत्वपूर्ण कदम हैं।“एनएमडीसीकेइन-हाउस आरएंडडी सेंटर को यूनिडो द्वारा खनिज प्रसंस्करण के क्षेत्र में उत्कृष्टता केंद्र के रूप में मान्यता प्राप्त है। वैज्ञानिक और औद्योगिक अनुसंधान परिषद (सीएसआईआर) – आईएमएमटी एकअत्याधु अनुसंधान एवं विकास संगठन है जो विज्ञान और प्रौद्योगिकी के विभिन्न क्षेत्रों में अपने ज्ञान के लिए जाना जाता है। एनएमडीसी और सीएसआईआर-आईएमएमटीने अतीत में महत्वपूर्ण विकास में  योगदान  दिया  है और अब खनन के लिए एक स्मार्ट और टिकाऊ भविष्य बनाने के लिए तैयारी कर रहे हैं।
