Jindal Steel & Power wins prestigious Golden Peacock CSR Award

Raipur, January 13, 2023: //// Leading steelmaker Jindal Steel & Power has been awarded with prestigious Golden Peacock Award 2022 for its excellence in Corporate Social Responsibility activities in Steel Sector. On behalf of the Company, JSP’s President and Group Head (CSR) Mr. Prashant Kumar Hota received the honour from Union Minister of State Law & Justice Prof. S.P. Singh Baghel on January 12, 2022 during 17th International Conference on CSR held at Mumbai. Institute of Directors (IOD)’s President Lt Gen (Retd.) Surinder Nath and Principal Advisor Shri Desh Deepak Verma, IAS (Retd) were present on the occasion. This is the second Golden Peacock CSR Award for the steelmaker led by its Chairman Shri Naveen Jindal.\

Jindal Steel & Power has bagged the coveted award for its holistic Corporate Social Responsibilities activities, undertaken by JSP Foundation, led by Smt Shallu Jindal for improving quality of life of the community around its operational areas and beyond. The steelmaker was selected by the Award Jury headed by Former Chief Justice of India Shri M.N. Venkatachaliah.

Thanking the Jury and IOD, JSP Foundation’s Chairperson Smt. Shallu Jindal said, “This prestigious awards make us more responsible and more accountable to the People at large and for the sustainable improvement in the Quality of life of the Community, mainly the socially vulnerable and the underprivileged across our Country. We are now aligned to 16 out of 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDG) and are already accelerating our programmes under all social development verticals to improve the Human Development Index (HDI) in India”.

Through its CSR arm JSP Foundation, JSP has impacted lives of about one crore people with various social development initiatives in partnership with the local community and Government. With a holistic 360-degree strategy, the company ensures that the key principles of sustainability, social, and ecological resilience are integrated across all its programmes. The CSR programmes implemented   by JSP Foundation during COVID-19 Pandemic – from supply of liquid medical oxygen across the Country to Mission Zero Hunger to feed the socially vulnerable – have been appreciated and applauded by the Civic Society,  Government and  People at large.

JSP has been honoured with various other prestigious awards for its high impact CSR activities. The Company has been recently declared as Winner of the National CSR Award by Ministry of Corporate Affair, Govt of India 2020 in two categories.

Recently the company was presented with FICCI CSR Award for Fight against COVID-19, Odisha CSR Excellence Award, India CSR Award and various others.

जिन्दल स्टील एंड पावर को गोल्डन पीकॉक सीएसआर अवार्ड

 रायपुर, 13 जनवरी 2023   //// – जाने-माने उद्योगपति श्री नवीन जिन्दल के नेतृत्व वाली देश की अग्रणी स्टील कंपनी जिन्दल स्टील एंड पावर (जेएसपी) को सीएसआर दायित्वों के उत्कृष्ट निर्वहन के लिए प्रतिष्ठित गोल्डन पीकॉक अवार्ड – 2022 से सम्मानित किया गया है।  मुंबई में कंपनी सामाजिक दायित्व विषय पर आयोजित 17वें अंतरराष्ट्रीय सम्मेलन में केंद्रीय कानून एवं न्याय राज्यमंत्री प्रो. एसपी सिंह बघेल ने जेएसपी को यह सम्मान प्रदान किया, जिसे कंपनी के प्रेसिडेंट और सीएसआर प्रमुख प्रशांत कुमार होता ने ग्रहण किया। इस अवसर पर इंस्टीट्यूट ऑफ डायरेक्टर्स (आईओडी) के प्रेसिडेंट लेफ्टिनेंट जनरल (सेवानिवृत्त) सुरिंदर नाथ और प्रधान सलाहकार श्री देशदीपक वर्मा आईएएस (सेवानिवृत्त) भी उपस्थित थे। सीएसआर के क्षेत्र में समर्पित सेवाओं के लिए जेएसपी को यह दूसरा गोल्डन पीकॉक अवार्ड प्राप्त हुआ है।

जिन्दल स्टील एंड पावर ने श्रीमती शालू जिन्दल के नेतृत्व में जेएसपी फाउंडेशन द्वारा अपने प्लांट के आसपास और देश के विभिन्न स्थानों पर लोगों के जीवन में बदलाव लाने के जो उल्लेखनीय प्रयास किये हैं, उसके फलस्वरूप ही यह प्रतिष्ठित सम्मान उसे प्रदान किया गया है। इस सम्मान के लिए जेएसपी का चयन सुप्रीम कोर्ट के पूर्व मुख्य न्यायाधीश श्री एम.एन. वेंकटचलैया की अध्यक्षता वाले निर्णायक मंडल ने किया।

गोल्डन पीकॉक अवार्ड के लिए निर्णायक मंडल और इंस्टीट्यूट ऑफ डायरेक्टर्स का धन्यवाद करते हुए जेएसपी फाउंडेशन की चेयरपर्सन श्रीमती शालू जिन्दल ने कहा, "इस सम्मान से लोगों की सेवा के लिए हम और अधिक उत्साहित हुए हैं। सामाजिक-आर्थिक रूप से कमजोर और वंचित वर्गों के उत्थान के प्रति हमारी जवाबदेही अब और बढ़ गई है। हम संयुक्त राष्ट्र सतत विकास लक्ष्यों (यूएनएसडीजी) के 17 में से 16 मानदंडों के अनुरूप कार्य कर रहे हैं और देश में मानव विकास सूचकांक (एचडीआई) में सुधार के लिए समस्त क्षेत्रों में संचालित अपने कार्यक्रमों में तेजी ला रहे हैं।”

गौरतलब है कि जेएसपी फाउंडेशन ने समुदायों और सरकारों से साझेदारी कर अपनी सेवाओं के माध्यम से एक करोड़ से अधिक लोगों के जीवन में बदलाव लाने का काम किया है।
