Department of Economics under the umbrella of Faculty of Arts & Humanitiesorganized a one-day National Webinar on “Vocal for Local: An EconomicFoundation of Self- Reliant India”. The webinar was organized with the motto ofimparting knowledge to the students with regards to the importance of achieving

the goal of 'Aatmanirbhar Bharat' (self-reliant India). The session was conductedonline on the Google Meet platform on 12th March 2022 at 11:00 a.m. onwards.The session was supervised by the Dean, Faculty of Arts & Humanities and theorganizing secretary of the webinar, Dr. Shilpi Bhattacharya. The Keynote speakerof the webinar was Dr. Ajeet Kumar Sahoo, Assistant Professor, Department of

Economics, Central University of Haryana, Mahendragarh. The webinar beganwith the welcome of all the dignitaries and the participants by Ms. PragatiKrishnan, Assistant Professor, Department of Economics and the Co-Convener ofthe webinar. The keynote speaker of the session Dr. Ajeet Kumar Sahoo deliveredhis lecture by giving informative and thought-provoking knowledge about thetopic “Vocal for Local”. Through PowerPoint presentation, he emphasized on thevarious segments of the Aatmanirbhar Bharat. He further discussed about the

Economic effects of Vocal for Local through the aggregate demand and theaggregate supply effects. Dr. Sahoo has also enlightened the students about thetwo facets of vocal for local with the notion of cutting down the dependency onimports and to take local brands to global arena. He further explained the pathdimensions of self-reliant India through Start-up India, Skill India and Make inIndia policies.
