बालको के प्रोत्साहन से किसानों ने ली स्वास्थ्यवर्धक काले चावल की फसल

बालकोनगर,16 नवंबर///// वेदांता समूह की कंपनी भारत एल्यूमिनियम कंपनी लिमिटेड (बालको) की सामुदायिक विकास परियोजना ‘मोर जल मोर माटी’ के तहत क्षेत्र के किसानों ने औषधीय गुणों वाले काले चावल की खेती प्रारंभ की है। मधुमेह सहित अनेक रोगों में यह चावल फायदेमंद है। सामान्य चावल के मुकाबले काले चावल का बाजार मूल्य अधिक है। वर्ष 2020 से ग्राम दोंदरो और आसपास के क्षेत्रों में प्रयोग के तौर पर प्रारंभ काले चावल की खेती के रकबे मंे बढ़ोत्तरी हुई है। बालको-नाबार्ड प्रोत्साहित कोरबा कृषक उन्नयन प्रोडक्शन कंपनी लिमिटेड (केकेयूपीसीएल) ने इस वर्ष तमिलनाडु राज्य को काले चावल की आपूर्ति करने में सफलता पाई है।

 कृषि विज्ञान शोध केंद्र, कटघोरा के विशेषज्ञों के अनुसार काले चावल में एंथोसायनिन और फ्लेवोनोइड जैसे अनेक एंटीऑक्सिडेंट के अलावा फाइटोन्यूट्रिएंट्स होते हैं। काले चावल कोलेस्ट्रॉल और मधुमेह को नियंत्रित करने में मददगार हैं साथ ही इनमें एंटी-कैंसर तथा एंटी-इफ्लेमेटरी गुण पाये जाते हैं। इनमें फाइबर भी खूब होता है। एंथोसायनिन से रक्त लिपिड में सुधार होता है जिससे हृदय संबंधी रोगों से सुरक्षा मिलती है। इन खूबियों के कारण मधुमेह और हृदय रोगियों के लिए काला चावल उत्तम माना जाता है।

 बालको के मुख्य कार्यकारी अधिकारी एवं निदेशक श्री अभिजीत पति ने किसानों द्वारा जैविक तकनीकों की मदद से औषधियुक्त काले चावल की खेती पर प्रसन्नता जाहिर की है। उन्होंने कहा है कि सामुदायिक विकास कार्यक्रम के अंतर्गत काले चावल की खेती बालको की विशिष्ट पहल है। इससे किसानों की आय बढ़ाने में मदद मिलेगी। वेदांता-बालको ने कृषि उन्नयन को सदैव ही प्रोत्साहित किया है। उन्होंने किसानों का आह्वान किया है कि वे बालको-नाबार्ड संचालित कृषि उन्नयन परियोजनाओं का भरपूर लाभ उठाएं।

 बालको की कृषि प्रोत्साहन योजनाओं से लाभान्वित होने वाले दोंदरो गांव के श्री अशोक चंद्रा ने बताया कि बालको स्थापित वेदांता एग्रीकल्चर रिसोर्स सेंटर ने उन्हें वर्ष 2020 में जैविक कृषि के जरिए एक एकड़ खेत में काले चावल की फसल लेने में मदद की। रासायनिक खेती के मुकाबले जैविक खेती की लागत 50 फीसदी कम थी। पिछले वर्ष के आंकड़ों से उत्साहित होकर वर्ष 2021 में श्री चंद्रा ने चार एकड़ खेत में काले चावल की रोपाई की है। उन्होंने तकनीकी मदद के लिए बालको के प्रति आभार व्यक्त किया है।

 नाबार्ड के जिला विकास प्रबंधक श्री संजीव प्रधान ने बताया कि बालको और नाबार्ड की पहल से स्थानीय किसानों को लाभ मिला है। किसानों को खेती की आधुनिक तकनीकों से जोड़ने, शासकीय योजनाओं की जानकारी देने तथा उसका लाभ लेने में मदद करने और कृषक संघ द्वारा उत्पादित फसलों को बाजार तक पहुंचाकर उन्हें उचित मूल्य दिलाने की दिशा में केकेयूपीसीएल उत्कृष्ट भूमिका निभा रहा है।

BALCO supports farmers to grow crops beneficial to health
Balconagar, November 16, 2021/// : Bharat Aluminium Company (BALCO), India’s iconicaluminium producer, is supporting the regional farmers to grow nutrient rich Black rice, underthe community development project of ‘Mor Jal Mor Maati’. Black rice has many healthbenefits and is very beneficial for different medical ailments including diabetes and is more
profitable to the farmers than the traditional white rice. The cultivation of Black rice wasinitiated in the year 2020 in the village of Dondro and nearby region on a pilot basis. Thisyear farmers have increased the land under cultivation due to its profitability. Korba KrushakUnnayan Production Company Limited (KKUPCL) supported by BALCO and NABARD has
successfully supplied Black rice to the state of Tamil Nadu this year.According to research scientists of Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Katghora, this special variety ofrice is full of antioxidants and phytonutrients with anti-inflammatory, anti-cancer, andcholesterol-lowering properties. Black rice is also an excellent source of antioxidants, such
as anthocyanins and flavonoids. It is a very good source of fiber and helps in digestion. Highfiber foods are also beneficial in reducing cholesterol level and blood sugar level.Anthocyanins give protection against heart diseases as it inhibits platelet aggregation andimprove blood lipids. Due to these properties, black rice is considered good for diabetes andheart patients.

Earlier I used chemical fertilizers for farming but after using the organic farming technique Ihave realised that my cost of cultivation has reduced by 50%.’ Encouraged by the results oflast year, Mr. Chandra has reaped Black Rice on four acres of land this year and hasexpressed his gratitude towards the organisation.Mr. Sanjeev Pradhan, District Development Manager, informed that the scheme ofNABARD-BALCO has benefitted the regional farmers. He also said that KKUPCL is playinga significant role in edifying the farmers about modern farming techniques and advantageousgovernment schemes, along with helping the farmers to sell their produce on suitable pricein the market.
