Lucknow, July 31,2021 ////  The construction of "Noida International Airport, Jewar", one of the world's largest airports, is going to start soon. The signing of the Licence Memorandum between the state government's joint venture company Noida International Airport Limited (NIAL) and the SPV of the developer Zurich Airport International AG, Yamuna International Airport Pvt at a program on Sunday in the presence of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath paved way for the same.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will soon lay the foundation stone of this airport following which the airport construction work will start. "The location of the proposed Jewar airport lies in the area which had been mired in controversies during the previous governments. The present state government interacted and coordinated with the farmers of all the villages under the Jewar Airport project area and acquired the 1336 hectares of land earmarked for the first phase of the project without any dispute," CM Yogi said while speaking on the occasion.

According to UP CM, civil aviation is an area of great potential in terms of generating employment and ensuring economic prosperity. With the establishment of Jewar Airport, the industrial infrastructure in Uttar Pradesh will be augmented and will create more investment opportunities besides giving impetus to the tourism sector. He said that the Jewar airport would be connected with high-speed rail while the Indira Gandhi Airport would be connected to it by road and metro rail. He said that site clearance from the Ministry of Civil Aviation, Government of India, approval for immigration services from the Ministry of Home Affairs, and NOC from the Ministry of Environment were completed in a time-bound manner and the further work will also start within the stipulated time frame.

The whole process is being completed in a timely manner:

The CM expressed happiness over the progress of the work of Jewar Airport, which according to him should be a unique specimen of Indian architecture, in a time-bound manner even amid the Corona epidemic. He derived satisfaction over the fact that this project will realise the dream of PM Modi. " Very soon,  Uttar Pradesh will have five international airports. The work on the International Airport at Kushinagar is almost complete and Anytime we can start this airport for international flights,'' he pointed out.

Earlier, the UP Minister of Civil Aviation Nand Gopal Gupta Nandi said that in the last four years, Uttar Pradesh has taken a big stride in the field of civil aviation and the Jewar Airport will become a global identity of Uttar Pradesh. Several officials of the government including officials of the Civil Aviation Department, CEO of Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority and representatives of Zurich Airport International (AG) were present at the occasion.
