Kanwar Yatra will be possible only after following the covit rules, UP government will talk to Kanwar unions

Supreme Court has fixed July 19 as the next date of hearing on ‘Kanwar Yatra’ case UP Government instructs ACS Home and DGP to establish conversation with other states

Lucknow, July 16, 2021//// The Uttar Pradesh Government reiterated that Kanwar Yatra will be in accordance with COVID-19 protocol and in touch with the Kanwar associations.In this sequence, The Uttar Pradesh government has instructed the administration to establish a conversation with the Kanwar associations in view of the pandemic so that the right decision can be taken regarding the organisation of the Yatra. 

ACS Home and DGP have also been instructed to establish communication with other states regarding the Kanwar Yatra. Meanwhile, the Supreme Court has given July 19 as the date of the next hearing on this matter. The Government is putting all the efforts to make sure that religious sentiments are not harmed and devotees who participate in the traditional journey can also be protected amid the pandemic. In this regard, the government is already taking a lot of vigilance ahead of the Kanwar Yatra, which will start from July 25, 2021, the first day of the month of Sawan. Necessary guidelines have also been issued for the administration regarding smooth conduct of Yatra. It is worth mentioning that in the year 2020, the Kanwar associations had suspended the Kanwar Yatra themselves after talks with the government. This year also the state government is in constant touch with the associations. 

What is Kanwar Yatra?

The Kanwar Yatra is a pilgrimage that is held every year in the month of Saavan. Lord Shiva devotees generally walk barefoot with pitchers of holy water from the Ganga or other holy rivers. It is said that the first Kanwar Yatra was believed to have been undertaken by Parashuram.

Lucknow, July 16, 2021कांवड़ यात्रा को लेकर कांवड़ संघों से बातचीत करेगी  यूपी सरकार सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने कांवड़ यात्रा मामले में सुनवाई की अगली तारीख 19 जुलाई तय की हैयूपी सरकार ने एसीएस होम और डीजीपी को दूसरे राज्यों से बातचीत करने का निर्देश दिया है

इसी क्रम में उत्तर प्रदेश सरकार ने प्रशासन को निर्देश दिया है कि महामारी को देखते हुए कांवड़ संघों से बातचीत की जाए ताकि यात्रा के आयोजन के संबंध में सही निर्णय लिया जा सके.कांवड़ यात्रा को लेकर एसीएस होम व डीजीपी को अन्य राज्यों से संवाद स्थापित करने का भी निर्देश दिया गया है. इस बीच सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने इस मामले पर अगली सुनवाई की तारीख 19 जुलाई दी है.सरकार यह सुनिश्चित करने के लिए सभी प्रयास कर रही है कि धार्मिक भावनाओं को ठेस न पहुंचे और पारंपरिक यात्रा में भाग लेने वाले भक्तों को भी महामारी के बीच संरक्षित किया जा सके।इस संबंध में सावन माह के पहले दिन 25 जुलाई 2021 से शुरू होने वाली कांवड़ यात्रा को लेकर सरकार पहले से ही काफी सतर्कता बरत रही है. यात्रा के सुचारू संचालन को लेकर प्रशासन को आवश्यक दिशा-निर्देश भी जारी कर दिए गए हैं.गौरतलब है कि साल 2020 में कांवड़ संघों ने सरकार से बातचीत के बाद खुद कांवड़ यात्रा स्थगित कर दी थी. इस वर्ष भी राज्य सरकार संघों के लगातार संपर्क में है।

क्या है कांवर यात्रा?

कांवड़ यात्रा एक तीर्थयात्रा है जो हर साल सावन के महीने में आयोजित की जाती है। भगवान शिव के भक्त आमतौर पर गंगा या अन्य पवित्र नदियों के पवित्र जल के घड़े के साथ नंगे पैर चलते हैं। ऐसा कहा जाता है कि पहली कांवर यात्रा परशुराम द्वारा की गई थी
